Root Caps | Slow-Release Aquarium Plant Fertilizer | 5–6 Month Nutrition
BSS™ Root Caps are premium slow-release fertilizer capsules designed to deliver essential nutrients directly into the aquarium substrate and root zone. They provide long-lasting nutrition for rooted aquarium plants, helping support strong root systems, healthy foliage and sustained growth for up to approximately 5–6 months.
Each capsule contains a balanced professional-grade fertilizer blend with nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, iron and essential trace elements. BSS™ Root Caps are particularly well suited to heavy root-feeding plants such as Amazon swords, Cryptocoryne, Vallisneria and other rooted aquarium species. When installed correctly beneath the substrate, nutrients are released gradually where plants need them most.

How to Use

Place in the Substrate
Push one BSS™ Root Cap fully beneath the substrate close to the plant's root system. Insert the capsule deep enough that it remains completely submerged beneath the substrate.

Space as Required
Space Root Caps approximately 10–15cm apart across larger planted areas, or place one close to individual heavy root-feeding plants.

Replace as Required
Reapply approximately every 5–6 months, adjusting according to plant density, growth rate and nutrient demand.
Important: Root Caps should remain fully buried in the substrate. Avoid leaving capsules exposed in the water column.
Safety & Storage
- Keep tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from humidity and direct sunlight.
- Keep dry until ready for use.
- For aquarium plant fertilisation only.
- Not for human or animal consumption.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets – small capsules may pose a choking hazard.
- Do not crush, cut or open the capsules.
- Wash hands after handling.
- Regularly test aquarium water parameters for best results.
