BSS™ Brine Shrimp Salt Mix - Tibet Red (200g)
Tibet Red Brine Shrimp Salt Mix | Ready to Use | Optimised for Hatching
BSS™ Tibet Red Brine Shrimp Salt Mix is a ready-to-use hatching solution designed to make hatching Tibet Red Artemia simple and consistent. Each batch is blended with marine salt and buffering minerals to create suitable hatching conditions for this distinctive Artemia strain, helping maintain the salinity and pH needed for reliable hatch performance and healthy, active nauplii.
Simply dissolve the mix in water, add your Tibet Red Artemia eggs and aerate. The formula is designed specifically for Tibet Red Artemia and removes the need to measure separate salt and buffering ingredients. One 200g pack provides up to approximately 8 litres of hatching solution when used at 25g per litre, making it a convenient option for breeders and aquarium hobbyists.

How to Use: Easy Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Prepare the Water
Dissolve approximately 25g of BSS™ Tibet Red Brine Shrimp Salt Mix per litre of water.
No dechlorinator is needed. -
Set the Conditions
Maintain a temperature of approximately 22°C. Aquarium heaters set between 18–24°C are suitable, although hatch times may be longer at the lower end of this range.
Light exposure can be beneficial but is not strictly necessary. -
Aerate
Add your Artemia cysts and use gentle aeration to keep the eggs suspended. A small aquarium air pump works well.
Use open-ended airline tubing to help prevent mineral build-up in an airstone. -
Hatch
Tibet Red Artemia nauplii typically hatch in around 36 hours, with hatch rates of up to 85% under ideal conditions.
If conditions vary, allow up to 48 hours for hatching. -
Harvest
Separate hatched shrimp from shells using a fine 80–200 micron mesh net, or attract the nauplii with a light source and collect them using a pipette.
Safety & Storage
- Keep tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- For best results, use within 6 months of opening.
- For extended storage of up to 2 years, refrigerate or freeze. Cold storage may alter moisture levels and gradually reduce hatch performance.
- Not for human consumption.
- Keep out of reach of children – small parts may pose a choking hazard.
- Regularly test water parameters for best results.
