How to Hatch: Easy Step-by-Step Instructions
Prepare the Water Use up to 2g of eggs with 25-30g of salt (NaCl) per litre of water. No need for dechlorinator—it’s not needed!
Set the Conditions Maintain a temperature of ~28°C with constant light. Adjust pH to 8.0-8.5 by adding 1.5g of Sodium Bicarbonate per litre of water.
Aerate Ensure moderate aeration to keep the cysts in suspension. A low-power aquarium air pump works perfectly.
Hatch Freshly hatched brine shrimp will emerge in 20–24 hours with a 95% success rate under optimal conditions. Even with slight variations, you can achieve great results in a home DIY setup.
Harvest Use an 80/200 mesh net or the pipette-and-light-source method to separate nauplii from cysts.
